A new person in Yuna's and Rikku's life, she joined the Gullwings even before Yuna did. Paine's past is mysterious, and she refuses to speak of it. She comes across as cold at first glance, but there is much more that lies beneath the surface. As the search for the truth begins, however, aquaintances from her past also turn up.
Paine shares a past with Nooj, leader of the Youth League, and Gippal, leader of the Machina Faction. Once close friends, betrayal separated them. As Paine continues on the journey with Rikku and Yuna, she must also come to terms with her past if she is to have any hope for her future.
