According to Nielson Vidscan, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is the number one selling anime DVD of 2006 for the year so far, selling twice as many copies as the second place title, Studio Ghibli's Howl's Moving Castle. Advent Children sells 2.4 million units

Square-Enix and Sony announced earlier today that the English version of Advent Children has reached 1.4 million units sold. 1.3 million units have been shipped in North America alone, and more than 100,000 units in Europe. These totals include both the DVD and UMD versions of the English dub.
