Shinra
President Shinra
The current President of the Shinra Electric Power Company. He uses the media to manipulate public opinion, and in so doing has gained near-dicatatorial control of the world. He makes public claims that he is doing all that he can to help the people of the planet, but the truth is, behind that powerful and benevolent exterior, he is actually very cruel. He has no qualms about stepping on the little people who get in the way of his plans.
Rufus Shinra
President Shinra's son, and Vice Presiden of Shinra Electric Power Company. Rufus' philosophy is much more Machiavellian that that of his father's. He believes that in order to control, one must control through power and fear. However, despite his position in the company, he has little actual power and and even less influence, and spends much of his time away on extended business trips. He has little respect for his father and his ways.
Heidegger
The head of Shinra Electric Power Company's Public Safety and Maintenance Department, and chief of Shinra's military forces. He is a loud and brashly condescending man, not well-liked by most of his coworkers. He is fond of brute force, and has little respect for the Turks, which is most obvious when he briefly takes control of the small, but powerful, special operations unit.
Scarlet
The head of Shinra Electric Power Company's Weapons Development department. She is rude, cold-hearted, and cruel... a trait that is especially notable when she accepts an order to attempt to assassinate the Turks for betraying the company.
Hojo
The head of Shinra's Science Research Department. Hojo is the successor to Professor Gast successor. Though brilliant in his own right, he is widly considered to be inferior to the former head of the department. His delight in experimentation borders on manic, and he is especially fond of exploiting genetic anomolies. Hojo has no qualms about experimenting on humans, and in fact used Turk leader Veld's daughter as a subject, implanting materia into her body.
Reeve Tuesti
A Shinra employee in the Housing and Urban Development. Reeve was the architect who designed the city of Midgar. He is also the man behind the design of the Mako Reactors, the technology that has make Shinra Electric Power Company the world power it is today. Though currently only a Minister in the Housing and Urban Development, their is quite a bit of speculation that eventually he will head the department.
Cait Sith
Cait Sith is a small, black, robotic cat built and controlled by Reeve Tuesti of the Housing and Urban Development department. Though he is still very much in the prototype stage, Cait Sith is a highly advanced piece of technology, and occasionally provides assistance to Shinra Electric Power Company's elite special operations unit, the Turks.
Sephiroth
A 1st Class SOLDIER in Shinra's military, and the prototype for Shinra's SOLDIER program. Sephiroth was a part of an experiment known as the Jenova Project, in which he received large doses of Mako energy and infusions of cells from a specimen called Jenova while he was still in his mother's womb. He is exceptionally strong, and is looked up two by those he commands as well as hopeful candidates for SOLDIER.
Zack
A 1st Class SOLDIER in Shinra's military. He and Sephiroth quickly becames close companions after Zack shot to the top and reached the top ranks of SOLDIER. He is strong, skilled, and confident. Somewhat carefree, he remains optimistic in almost any given situation, and is very considerate of his allies. Zack has a strong sense of duty and friendship.
