~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vincent leaves Shelke in a mako chamber to recover from her run-in with Nero, while Yuffie leaves to shut down the reactor. Vincent goes off to face Weiss. But first, we see some more memories via Shelke's uploaded files.
Run straight ahead for a Hi-potion, handgun bullets, and a Mako Point. Run down the walkway and kill the soldier that starts shooting at you. As you keep going, you'll run into a Sentinal bot, and a sniper who is immune to bullets. Kill the bot, and then use your sniper scope and some materia to take out the sniper. Head up the stairs for an X-potion and a Mako Point, but watch out for the gargoyle that come out when you get up there.
Go down the path to the east and take out the sniper on your right as you round the corner. Also, kill the bug that's crawling around on the pipe. There's another sniper to you left as you start going down the staircase ahead. Blow up the barrel next to him for a quick kill, and go through the door.
The next room contains a Shop Kiosk. Go through to the next room for a quick cutscene showing you some gargoyles. This will start the "Defeat the gargoyles!" Stage Mission. When the room is clear, if you stand on the platform with the Mako Point and aim up at the tower in the center, you will see MEMORY CAPSULE #1 on top of one of the high rings. Head down the stairs to the door.
Go through the short hallway and onto the platform. Drop down and kill the Sentinal bots below. Follow the path, and kill the soldiers that try to snipe you. They are immune to bullets, so use magic. Do go forward too far, or you'll have to deal with a guy with a rocket launcher at the same time. When the soldiers are dead, THEN take out the rocket launcher, as well as the bug, to get a Card Key. Deactivate the Laser Gates and grab the Mega-potion to you left.
You can drop down from either the platform witht the Mega-potion, or from the platform a little farther on. It doesn't really matter, as you wind up in the same place. (the area should look familiar, by the way... you were here earlier with Cait Sith). Follow the path and drop down to pick up 900 gil. There is a Mako Point in the corner. When you touch the Mako Point, bugs will swarm you. Kill them for a Card Key.
There is also a limit break on a nearby platform. When you climb up to get it, be sure to look down and to the left for MEMORY CAPSULE #2. Drop back down, and open the gate. Go through the short hallway and into the next room to start the "Defeat the gargoyles 2!" Stage Mission. They make this one easier for you by giving you a mounted machine-gun. When the room is clear follow the path down and grab the ammuntion, then exit through the door at the end of the path.
Go through another short hallway and into the next room. The game will Auto-Save, and you will see a quick cutscene of several enemies stationed on the central pillar. This begins the "Defeat all the targets on the central pillar!" Stage Mission. The trick here is to shoot down the exploding barrels above them and then blow them up when they land next to the enemies. Watch out for the Sentinal bots. The periodically come out of the wall and attack you. It doesn't matter how many you kill... they'll just keep coming.
You can pick up a Hi-Potion and a Phoenix Down on the side platforms in here. When you're done, exit through the next door. Grab the Hi-Potion and the X-Potion and go through the short hallway into the next room. Here, you will start the "Defeat the gargoyles 3!" Stage Mission. Again, they give you a mounted machine-gun, so run down to it and shoot to kill. Continue down the stairs for a Mako Point, and into the short hallway to find a Shop Kiosk.
In the next room, you run into a soldier who is immune to bullets and a guy pushing a mounted machine-gun out. Melee the first enemy for a Card Key, and then shoot the other one before he has a chance to get the gun into position and start shooting at you. When it's clear, face to the south, and MEMORY CAPSULE #3 should be pretty obvious in the open area in the center of the south wall.
Head into the next room, which is empty, and go through the door. You'll run into a bunch of soliders who are immune to bullets. Melee them if you're out of mako... otherwise hit them with some magic, then head into the next room for a Mako Point and go through the door.
Run for it. The guys above you shoot straight down through the ceiling, and they all have the shields that make them immune to bullets. Don't even waste your magic... just run for it. You'll take less damage.
In the next room, kill all the bugs for a Card Key. Standing near the laser gate, look up at the ceiling to the north for MEMORY CAPSULE #4. Deactivate the gate and go through the door.
MEMORY CAPSULE #5 is in the top of the barrel on the right as you enter the room. You'll have to jump and shoot to get at it. G Report #3 is also in this room. Stand on the platform in the center and ride it up. Double jump to the pipes, and the report is in the corner on the north side of the room. Of course getting these two items isn't the easiest thing to do... because the room is swarming with soldiers you can't shoot. And even if you kill them all, more will come out of the doors on the upper level.
When you're done in here head through the door. The next room has some ammo and a Hi-Potion. Grab them, and then look up at the mesh ceiling to get MEMORY CAPSULE #6. Then use the panel on the wall to open the door. And when you enter the next room...
------ Boss Battle ------
Boss: Dragonfly PT
Yes, it's your old friend the Dragonfly. And he has friends. There are several gargoyles in the room that will swoop down and attack you.
The chopper, of course, is loaded with missles, and also has a machine gun. It circles the large structure in the center of the room so that you don't always have a clear shot, but every once in a while, it will hover directly over the bridge you're trapped on.
Shoot it, and ignore the gargoyles. If you keep moving forward and back across the bridge you should get hit by them too often. Avoid the missles at all costs. They'll knock you down, and give the gargoyles a chance to kick you while you're down. Also, Sentinal bots will come out periodicaly to harass you (like you didn't have enough to deal with already). They will drop useful items, like healing items and ammo.
Give the machine-gun (or your recently acquired Blast Machine Gun) a try... unless you upgraded one of your other weapons to something better, of course.
-------------------------
When you have defeated the Dragonfly PT, use the panel to open the door to the inner part of the reactor. Run down the hallway, and kill the soldiers who are guarding the Shop Kiosk. They are immune to bullets, but since they at clustered, you magic shots will hit them all at once. Resupply if you need to, and then go on to next room for a rematch with Nero.
Vincent will meet up with Yuffie, and they'll head toward the chamber where Weiss is... only to find him dead. Nero appears, and tells them that he won't be dead for long... soon, he will be the vessel for Omega. The reactor comes to life as mako energy surges from the planet, and Weiss begins to awaken. Nero attacks, protecting his brother and traps Yuffie and Vincnet in his darkness. Yuffie is overwelmed, but Vincent comes to her rescue. Too shaken to fight, Yuffie can only watch as Vincent takes on Nero inside his darkness.
------ Boss Battle ------
Boss: Arachnero
Nero transforms into a giant... spider... thing... and hangs out on the underside of a floating rock. He is sheilded from bullets, and aided by four little drones that restore his sheild when you manage to break through it, and shoot at you with powerful lasers.
First off... you CAN break through Nero's shield by shooting it. Unfortunately, his drones will restore it before you can do any heavy damage.
The second thing to notice is that the field is circular. This comes in handy, as you're going to want to keep moving to avoid the drones' lasers. Be careful not to get hung up on any of the rocks protruding from the ground, you you'll find yourself cornered.
The best way I've found to beat this guy is to first target his drones. They're hard to hit when they're on the move, but they hold perfectly still when they're getting ready to fire their lasers. If you're quick, you can take them out before the have a chance to fire. Once you get rid of all four, Nero's shield will falter and you can attack him directly. Before long, he'll summon more drones, and you'll get to start the process all over again.
At some point he'll start showering the area with fireballs. They're not too hard to avoid... just don't get stuck against a rock while you're running and you should be fine.
When you whittle away about half of his HP, Nero switches gears and changed to a new form.
-------------------------
------ Boss Battle ------
Boss: Gorgonero
Nero is Nero again. He can appear and disappear on the various platforms in the area. You yourself are stuck right where you are. The trick to this battle is to watch for him, and when you see his aura of darkness appearing, snipe him in the head as soon as it's visible. A good headshot takes off a ton of HP.
He can show up in front of you, behind you, and even on the same platform you're on.
-------------------------
Defeated, Nero will stagger off towards Weiss. Collect the 5000 gil in the case, and visit the Shop Kiosk. You can also chat with Yuffie. When you're ready, head off after Nero. The game will Auto-Save and you will see a cutscene.
Upon entering the room, you will find that Weiss has awakened. Despite Nero's loyalty to his brother, Weiss finishes Nero off and coldly tosses him aside. Vincent attacks, but Weiss blocks every shot. He says he has become one with Omega... and more than that, we find out who's REALLY behind all this.
Hojo... having survived in a virtual reality much like Shelke's SND, he has taken control of Weiss's body and has been using it to awaken Omega in order to become one with it. And he's very modest about the whole thing... (note the sarcasm).
Vincent attacks, but Weiss knocks him to the ground with very little effort. Weiss begins to absorb the lifestream from the reactor, but Vincent gets to his feet and challenges him again.
------ Boss Battle ------
Boss: Weiss the Immaculate
You can't beat him. Don't waste your ammuntion trying.
-------------------------
Beaten, Vincent loses control of Chaos. The game will Auto-Save. A vision of Lucrecia appears, courtesy of Shelke, urging Vincent to take control of Chaos and us his power to defeat Weiss. Weiss attack, but Vincent blocks it... he has control now, drawing forth the power of Chaos while still maintaining his human form.
------ Boss Battle ------
Boss: Weiss Empowered
Probablty one of the biggest pains in the butt in the game. He's tough, and he takes awhile because he's got high defense and he can deliver some nasty hits.
Weiss has as shockwave attack much like Azul's, and an energy attack similar to Rosso's. He's also annoyingly fast, is equipped with a set of gunblades, and once you've drained his HP a bit, he'll periodically jump to the middle of the room, become temporarily invincible and start shooting lasers at you.
Keep your distance as much as possible. When he's shooting at you, take cover behind the cylinders protruding from the floor. Sometimes he'll come in and slash you... which will usually knock you down. Whatever you do, don't let him corner you, and don't even attempt to melee him (It'll just result in a whole lot of pain for Vincent).
Pick a cylinder and use the hide-and-shoot method. Hide while he's shooting, come out and shoot when he stops. Save your ammo when he twirls his swords... you can't hit him.
-------------------------
When you beat him, you'll see another cutscene. Nero will call to Weiss, having hidden himself inside his brother before his body died. Weiss regains control from Hojo, and he and Nero fade away and join with Omega, leaving Hojo without a host body.
