Vincent is reliving memories from the old days in his dreams again. When he wakes, he fines himself in a WRO van in the company of his mysterious rescuer. If you haven't figured out her identity yet, you need to play FF7 again. XD
Yuffie's dramatic moment is interupted by her usual pose and grace. Turns out she's been helping out the WRO. Once Vincent is feeling a bit better, they contact Reeve, and learn what Reeve found out via Cait Sith's infiltration of Midgar. He orders them back to WRO headquarters. Meanwhile, Shelke has awakened at WRO headquarters... unfortunately, so has Azul who apparently wasn't as dead as everyone thought he was. As Shalua and Shelke square off in some sort of bizarre sibling rivalry, Azul makes good his escape, and Deepground soldiers waiting for his signal advance on WRO headquarters. Back in the van, Yuffie and Vincent are suddenly attacked by Deepground robots.
Well, it looks like you transport is totalled, so obliterate the three bots, and get moving on foot. One of the bots will drop a Card Key for the Laser Gate, but before you go through, be sure to get MEMORY CAPSULE #1. It's sitting on one of the fallen tree trucks to the west. There is also a Mako Point just before the gate.
Stop at the Shop Kiosk if you need to and move on down the path. Shoot the Guard Hounds that come after you, and eventually you'll come to a clearing with some Levrikons (you may remember them from FF7... they look a bit like evil chocobos and were frequently found in the grasslands area around the Chocobo Ranch). If you manage to kill them before they run off, they'll drop Red Ethers or Red Potions. Get too close and they might turn and fight instead of running, so shoot them from a distance.
Just beyond here is a pool of water with some fallen logs in it. Kill the Guard Hounds, and then stand in the water neare the logs and turn and face north. Embedded in the hillside is MEMORY CAPSULE #2. The path is pretty straightforward for awhile. Just run and shoot. Eventually, you'll come to another Mako Point. Enter the narrow path, and shoot the bug that pops out of the hole. You'll hear voices in the distance.
Keep going, and you'll come to a cliff overlooking Deepground's field base. Kill the soldiers and the bugs on the cliff, and shoot the crates from some ammo and a potion. While you're here, pick up MEMORY CAPSULE #3. It's on top of one of the cliffs to the south.
Since you have the high ground, make use of it. Snipe the enemies below. In face, if you look to the south, you'll see a bug in a hole in the cliff face. Shoot it, and bugs will swarm out. Sometimes they will attack the Deepgrounds for you. Once you're rid of the soldiers, take out the bugs, as well and head down. Kill off anything you missed and then check out the tents and caves for items and cash. There is also a Shop Kiosk to the north. When you're done, continue on.
Soon, you'll reach the outskirts of WRO headquarters, and your approach will trigger the "Save the WRO members!" Stage Mission. Go in shooting, and take out the soldiers as fast as possible to prevent the WROs from being killed. Watch out for the guy at the far end of the area who jumps on the mounted fun and lets loose. Blow up the barrel next to him for a quick kill.
When the Deepgrounds are finished, you'll hear the sound of approaching choppers, signaling the beginning of the "Destroy the choppers attacking headquarters!" Stage Mission. Jump on the mounted machine-gun yourself, and be prepared to fire. Fifteen choppers will attack, in groups of 1 to 3. Your job is to shoot them down. Be quick about it, because they have rockets that can do a lot of damage.
As soon as the choppers are destroyed, immediately remain on the gun and turn around and face the open area behind you. Deepground soldiers will be coming up behind you. Let them have it with the mounted gun. One of them will drop a Card Key, so grab it, and head to the buildings off to the side. There's a Mako Point under one of the crates, and some Rifle Bullets near one of the WRO members.
Deactivate the gate and head inside. Here, you will find a Mako Point, and a Shop Kiosk (the Materia Booster accessory should now be buyable). Follow the hallway to the next door and go through. Clear the snipers on the towers and the ground troops. If you aim at the top of the tower on the right, you can shoot a Cactaur. If you aim near the top of the tower on the left, you can get MEMORY CAPSULE #4.
As you move forward, several soldiers will attack. Use the barrels scattered around the area to blow them up. Run beneath the towers, and help the WRO take out the rest of the soldiers in the area (make sure you get the sniper on the far tower). When it's clear, turn around and aim at the back side of the tower you just passed under (the one where you saw the Cactaur earlier). MEMORY CAPSULE #5 is up at about the same level #4 was.
Head through the door on the left side of the back wall. Some WRO are in the middle of a fight inside. If you just want to get through, shoot the barrel in the middle and kill 'em all. If you're going for Save the WRO stage mission points, snipe the Deepgrounds from a distance, or run in and melee them.
Run through the corridor and exit the building. Kill the Deepgrounds in the area and the last one will drop a Card Key. There is a Mako point near the far end on the left. While you're here, look over the low railing towards the base of the tower, down in the water (you'll need the Sniper Scope). There's MEMORY CAPSULE #6.
Next run to the opposite side of the bridge, and look over the low railing there. MEMORY CAPSULE #7 is on the hillside about halfway up, across the river. When you're ready, open the Laser Gate and head through.
A cutscene will occur, and you will here some panicked WRO members yelling and a loud roar. The game will Auto-Save.
When you regain control, you'll be in a large area fenced in by pillars, with walkways overhead. You've got your work cut out for you here, because the area is just full of snipers above and below. Take them out fast. When the area is clear, take aim at the right side of the roof of the building in front of you, near the spotlight beam for MEMORY CAPSULE #8. Look to the waterfalls on the west side of the area. Go to the second one from the far end, and look up near the top to get MEMORY CAPSULE #9. Collect the items in the area, and nab the Mako Point on the right hand side, then run up the stairs.
------ Boss Battle ------
Boss: Black Widow II
Similar to the bot you battled at Shinra Manor. You have two options with this guy...
Either drop back down, and take cover on either side of the staircase, and use the shoot and hide method, or risk heavy damage from his rockets and the gunners backing him up, and run up the stairs, to the right, and right again to get on top of the walkways where you'll find a mounted machine gun.
The mounted gun is by far the fastest way to kill this boss, but getting to it without getting slammed can be tricky. If you can take out the Deepground soldiers from below first, it helps, but the real problem is the rockets that the boss launches that knock you down and do heavy damage. And if you mess up and fall from the walkways before you reach the gun, it's a real pain to get back up the stairs.
It's your choice.
-------------------------
After the battle, you'll see a cutscene and Vincent will enter the building.
When you have control again, get the Mako Point to you right. There's only one soldier in here, so shoot him and head through the door. WRO will be fighting Deepground, so help them out. There's another Mako Point behind some rubble on the left, and a limit breaker near the back wall. MEMORY CAPSULE #10 is also here. The best place to shoot it from is the southwest corner. Look up at the broken bridge middle of the room towards the back.
Next, go through the door on the right. Kill the soldiers in the hall, and head down the stairs and follow the hallway.
Another cutscene will occur as Azul in beast form attacks the WRO. He charges down Vincent, Shalua, and Shelke, but Shelke stops him with a powerful shield materia, and he transforms back into his human form. Azul informs her that Deepground no longer needs her and that they can't risk having her in the hands of the WRO. He attempts to kill her, but Shalua rescues her. Vincent escapes through a nearby door, but it begins to close before Shalua and Shelke can follow. Shalua jams open the door with her mechanical arm and pushes Shelke through, leaving herself trapped on the other side with Azul who brutally attacks her. Vincent pulls her away as Azul tries to force his way through the door.
At the end of the stage, the Recoil Limiter accessory will be buyable in the Shop.
