Zell is an all round honest type of guy, though he often loses his temper. He idolized his grandfather who was a soldier. He joined Garden from a very young age in order to follow in his footsteps. He is in the same squad as Squall and Seifer for the SEED field test. Zells' attempts at getting through to Squall seems to fail and Seifer often ridicules him.
His weapons are his Gloves- a quick and lethal fighter, trained in martial arts. His Limit Breaks can be increased by finding Combat King Books. When performing his Break, the player can input certain sequences of buttons in a given period of time to maximise the damage Zell can do.
