Balthier to make guest appearance in Lion War

According to some new scans, Balthier of FFXII fame will be putting in an appearance in Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War. It is well-known that FFVII's Cloud Strife played a role as a secret character in the original FF Tactics. It is unknown at this time if Balthier will be replacing Cloud, or fighting along with him, seeing as the game is more re-release than remake... though the scans seem to imply that Balthier will have a storyline role, thus making a connection between the worlds of FF Tactics and FFXII. Also making an appearance in The Lion War will be the Dark Knight class. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War is an updated port of FF Tactics for the PSP, and the second game in the Ivalice Alliance set (the first beling the FFXII spin-off, Revenant Wings). Hopefully, Balthier will be a secret character like Cloud and not be a major part of the story. I also hope he doesn't replace Cloud.

I hear mentions that the onion Knight will also be in the game. Is this true?

And vorpal blade, I also heard the rumor that the FF3-style Onion Knights will be making an appearance as a class, but haven't found actual confirmation yet.

No one cares about Balthier. FFVIII charactes need more spotlight. I could care less about a retired judge.

Personally, I'd love to see Shadow or Setzer to make an appearance. I'd also Like to see maybe Cecil. They need to give the other characters credit where it's due. The Sorceress' Knight has been out of business for far too long.

Balthier is cooler than any FFVIII character (except maybe Laguna). Besides, Balthier actually lives in Ivalice.

Besides, those other characters have "credit where credit is due." They're credited with having brought FF into the spotlight. You also must remember tha those earlier characters aren't as well known, so how would that make money? Your wait's gonna last at least until KHIII.

So what? Cloud wasn't from Ivalice and he was in Final fantasy tactics, so was Aeris. But seriously, Laguna desrves a lot of spotlight. Laguna is the coolest, ever. I don't really like Balthier that much, he's too....
annoying, all ways knowing where the hell to go. That gets on my nerves. I think that Tidus without a voice, and less bitchy attitude would be great.

Cloud and Aeris were secret characters without a major part to play... the info coming out points to Balthier actually having a role in the plot, so he makes far more sense than Squall or Seifer or Albel (who isn't even an FF character), in that regard, being from Ivalice himself.

Second, even if you don't like Balthier, a lot of people do... he seems to be by far the most popular character in XII. The guy gives new meaning to the word smooth. :lol:

Knew someone would mention that.

One possible reason for Cloud's inclusion as a playable character might be to promote the game using the main character of the recently released FFVII. They're doing the same thing here, using a major character from the recently released FFXII as a special character to help promote it.
