Earlier this month, Square announced that they would make an announcement regarding a Final Fantasy surprise for FF's upcoming 20th anniversary. Early reports on this surprise are now making their way onto the internet. According to Total Video Games, reports from Japan are confirming that "Anniversary Editions" of FFI and FFII are currently in development for PSP. Gaming mag, Famitsu, says that the PSP games will receive the immaginative titles of Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition (which will include the extra dungeon added for the GBA version of FFI and a Gallery Mode) and Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition II. The games are scheduled for release in Japan sometime later this year. No plans for a European or North American release have yet been announced. Source: Total Video Games Add to Digg |

Wow, sooooo lame. I might get FF1 though, if it were for the GAMEBOY. PSP= too expensive to buy and most games suck overall. Mean bastards.....

I dunno... Famitsu is pretty damn reliable. About the only thing more reliable than them in terms of Japanese gaming mags would be Shounen Jump/Weekly Jump, which is put out by SE themselves. |

Except for giving a 40 to Nintendogs and shit like that :monster: But yeah, that's subjective opinion stuff, not factual reporting data, so your point stands. |

That's it ? Why is everything that company spews out always such an anti climax. Dirge of Cerberus being a prime example.

You're right... there's scans for them... at least they have new CG movies. Maybe this won't be the only thing they have in store for us this year? After all... there is that Serious Gaming thing going on... that thing kinda makes me nervous though....

Actually, I'm pretty sure they're reusing the FF Orgins CG movies as seen on the PSX port of the games... They're not new. |

This seems like little more than a PSP port of FFO, but with DOS's extra dungeons. Not wholly impressive. I'll use the money I'd normally spend on this to save for FFXIII and a PS3.
