Square Enix Alter E3 Plans Due To Swine Flu

E3 2009 is shaping up to be quite promising this year but it seems that some companies have altered their arrangements for the event due to Swine Flu.

Capcom, Koei and now Square Enix have confirmed a scale down. The company talked to Gamesindustry.biz and had the website had this to say:

"Square Enix has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that it is only sending a limited number of Japanese staff to E3 in Los Angeles next month, following continued concerns over swine flu.

The publisher joins Capcom and Koei in restricting foreign travel, as cases of swine flu in Japan have reached almost 300 since the global outbreak, prompting the government to advise all citizens to avoid international travel."

Hopefully this wont detract Square Enix from showing a full compliment of games in development at the event.

Heh, I guess the absence of Dragon Quest IX was due to swine flu...
