Crisis Core tops sales charts

Released on September 14 in Japan, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core topped the software sales charts in Japan for the week. The PSP prequel ended the week by selling approximately 487,000 copies, outdoing the second place title (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2) by more than 100,000 sales.

Square Enix hasn't been especially forthcoming about there Smash Bros-esque Final Fantasy fighter, but their booth at Tokyo Game Show did reveal one new character on the game's roster. Squall Leonhart of FFVIII fame will be tossing his gunblade into the mix.

Rumours seem to be the in thing at the moment regarding the future of Kingdom Hearts and the never ending saga of will there/wont there be an FFVII remake. News has been bouncing around the Internet of a Kingdom Hearts game hitting the PSP via a podcast from a member of 1UP who is also editor of EGM.
